About
We were approached by a Chicago-based modern progressive rock band called District 97 who pitched us an incredible song called Ghost Girl. The song is a musical journey about a little girl who longs to fit in. The only problem: she's terrorised by malevolent spirits, and nobody believes her except for her loving but opportunistic mother.
Using motion graphics, we peeked into the thoughts of a young girl's mind through illustrations in her personal diary that have come to life. We interpreted the song line by line, imagining her life from a child to a young woman, the struggle of darkness and light in her journey, and the toxicity of this mother-daughter relationship.
